The [M 002 / Han] Dynasty was best known for its agricultural achievements. Economic prosperity under the Han gave rise to an upper class that assumed the position of the nobility which the previous dynasty, the Qin, had suppressed. Merchants, along with cultural development, prospered. A government system also emerged that was a model for later dynasties. However, following a number of uprisings and rebellions later in the Han - including the [G 19 / Red Eyebrows] and the [G 27 / Yellow Turbans] - the dynasty collapsed and Chinese unity broke down. It would remain shattered for the next four centuries.
